Meatless Monday!

So today I wanted to share with you all a routine I’ve been getting myself into–and that is Meatless Mondays! “Meatless Monday is part of the Healthy Monday initiative. Healthy Monday encourages Americans to make healthier decisions at the start of every week.” Giving up meat for a day will not only benefit yourself, but also the animals and our planet!

There are many websites you can visit that have recipes and dishes you can try out on the days you decide to give up your meat. I know it’s hard for some people {especially the meat lovers} but I think it’s well worth it. Trying out new things can be fun and creative and who knows, maybe you’ll find a new meal you actually really like. There are also daily, weekly, and monthly subscriptions you can partake in that give meatless {and healthier} meal or snack choices <~linked below! Also don’t forget about the other choices you can make when it comes to protein on days you aren’t eating meat such as nuts, beans, quinoa, tofu, and more.

Going meatless doesn’t have to be limited to a Monday, giving up meat on at least one day of the week can still make a difference! Personally, Monday works out great for me because that’s when a new episode of Teen Wolf airs. If you find it difficult to remember the day in which you want to make a routine out of, you can try to associate it with something you will remember. Whether it’s when your favorite tv show is on, or the day you have practice for sports. Connecting it with something you will definitely remember is always a good idea. And if you do accidentally eat meat on your day off, don’t nag yourself about it, just switch out the next day!

I think this is also a great way to start changing your diet. If you want to cut out certain things or even become vegetarian/vegan, starting off with one day of the week and slowly adding more days can greatly help. Once you get used to Monday’s, then add Thursday’s, then Saturday’s, and so on!
